Frequently asked questions
Do you offer meet and greets?
Yes, we understand it can be scary to leave your beloved pet with a new person so we offer a complimentary meet & greet to get to know you and you pet before any dog sitting, doggy day care, or any other service is performed.
Is there an additional charge during holidays?
Yes, we have a $10 holiday surcharge added onto our dog sittings, doggy day care, or dog walks for major holidays (including Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day)
What's included in a visit?
Dog Gone Walking takes great care to meet all the needs of your pets and home in your absence. Our visits include: exercise of the body and mind; a walk, jog, or trail walk/run, positive reinforcement for appropriate behavior, fresh water service and pictures or videos showing your pet(s) day! Each visit is customized to your pet(s) age and fitness ability.
Will my dog be walked individually or in a group?
At Dog Gone Walking, we believe that pack walks are so beneficial for most dogs because it allows them to learn positive behaviors and socialize with other dogs. If you prefer we walk your dog individually, that can certainly be arranged.
What happens during a visit when it's raining?
On rainy days your pet sitter/walker will use their best judgement in making modifications to a pet's routine. In general, in drizzly weather, dogs will get their normal walk time, but for moderate/heavy rain, a dog's walk may be substituted for a short potty break and some social/playtime in the house.
Do you offer special services?
While some companies only offer walking or pet sitting, we consider ourselves a full service pet concierge. In addition to dog walking, dog sitting and doggy daycare, for an additional fee, we offer training, medication administration, grooming, bath & blow dry, ear cleaning, nail trim, paw hair trim, pick up and drop off.
How will I know my walker has made their visit?
Trust and accountability are an important part of the pet caregiver/owner relationship. You will receive a confirmation for your scheduled dog walk and your dog walker will check in with you via text or phone showing videos or pictures of your pet(s) experience with Dog Gone Walking.
What kind of animals do you care for?
Dogs and cats are by far our most common, however we also have experience caring for birds, rabbits, fish and snakes. We can care for any type of pet!
Is Dog Gone Walking licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes! We are happy to provide documentation upon request.
